About Ketchup

Onyido Nkemjika better known as “KETCHUP” born on May 1 in Lagos Nigeria is the first of four siblings who drew his earliest inspirations from Ebenezer Obey, Sir Sina Peters, Bob Marley, Shakademus and a host of others. Ketchup had his Secondary education at St Leos School, Federal Government College Ijanikin, he spent a few years at Obafemi Awolowo University Ife before he proceeded to Atlantic College, KL Malaysia where he studied Mass Communications. While in School, Ketchup was always in touch with his music which spurred him to write his 1st song in 2010 titled Nuvo featuring U.K Disc Jockey “DJ jam jam. The song went on to bag him an award at the prestigious Malaysian AEA Awards that year, while the video of the song “Nuvo” went on to receive rave reviews. He later relocated to Nigeria and released another single, On The Beat” featuring Rayce in 2012. During this time, he met the talented producer, ‘EmmyACE’ and together, they created a new direction for Ketchup’s music and released the club banger, Show Me Yuh Rozay. He has won numerous award like Best stage performance – AEA Awards Malaysia 2011 – Won, Best Video of the Year – AEA Awards Malaysia 2011 – Won, Artist of the year – AEA Awards Malaysia 2012 – Won, Best international Act – NEA Awards New York 2012, Best new Act – NEA Awards New York 2013, Artist of the Year – Mayhem in May (MIM) Nigeria 2013 – Won, Artist of the Year – Green Awards Nigeria 2013 – Won, Club Flames Merit Awards – Club Hottest Music Artist 2013 Nigeria.
